About

What is Tennantcast?

Tennantcast is a podcast, led by Kelsey, Kari, and Flossie. We ramble about David Tennant, all he’s up to, provide reviews and commentary, information, laughs, contests, and other multimedia experience.

Who is David Tennant?

David Tennant is a Scottish actor who’s known for playing the Tenth Doctor in the famous Brit show Doctor Who, among many other roles (The Greatest Lover Known to Man and a stalker come to mind). We do not wish to typecast him only as the Tenth Doctor, and we don’t primarily focus on just Doctor Who. This is a David Tennant blog primarily, and Doctor who will be mentioned of course.

How did Tennantcast begin?

Well, that’s a long story. It began with Kelsey and Kari deciding to make a David Tennant fansite, and after about 3 million views they decided to be innovative with their still flaming obsession. Kelsey and Sarah (our previous editor) were already friends, and Sarah mentioned (jokingly, in actuality) that we should start a David Tennant podcast. Kelsey took her literally on this and went out and bought a microphone that week.

How long has Tennantcast been on?

We opened Tennantcast.com and launched the Tennantcast podcast on April 18th, 2009. Coincidentally, that is David Tennant’s birthday. Actually, it was planned. Tennantively.org opened on Valentine’s Day (to express our loooooveee), so we decided to keep up with the theme of launching on important dates. We added Flossie in June of 2009.

What is Tennant Tuesday?

It’s like, the weekly holiday for David Tennant. He has his own day reserved in the week. For real. Everything anyone ever told you about the origin of “Tuesday” being derived from the old english word Tiwesdæg or that it came from the Norse God of war, Týr, is a lie. A downright lie. Hear none of it. No, it’s actually a tag on twitter each Tuesday where fans gather together and tweet about their fondness of David. You can learn more about it here.
