As you can see, we have a special episode today…. David Tennant is 39 today, and Tennantcast is one years old! This is a cause for celebration and a special podcast. In this episode, we stay relatively on topic with such discussions as 39 reasons why we love David, some facts about his birthday and then finally, our year with Tennantcast.

We have absolutely no clue where you all have been, but in this special episode 175 we have a fantastic time discussing all of David’s new roles – one potentially romantic role with Billie Piper, one where he could be a ZOMBIE and sounds like Eli Roth should direct it, and one where he’s a single daddy. Kelsey clearly has speech problems in this episode, or a general lack of which one’s a husband and wife, Kari poses very philosophically deep questions like “can a guinea pig be bisexual?” and Flossie has a very important announcement to make to our dear listeners at the end of the episode. Though this episode was recorded in like, February, it still contains important information and valuable lessons, like cracking one’s Oscar and distributing it evenly to the losers, and how much we love Bernard Cribbins, and how we clearly must all be single in prerequisite of running this sort of podcast.
But seriously, there’s a very important message at the end – we’d love to have you on the show!

Our first special of the New Year! Our special is all about reviewing David’s past year, past decade even, and making humorous predictions about his future! Covering everything from his worst reviews, his smallest roles, his weirdest rumors and exploring all his works, we go down memory lane and reminiscence about our feelings and first reactions. There’s no Picture Comment of the Day or reviews, as everything will return to normal next week.

Same old excuse as always – the girls enjoy a very humorous, off-topic discussion, fueled by Kelsey’s dad’s idea of having Tennantcast commercials. We came up with Tennantcast merchandise (imaginary, of course), including Chia pet David’s (to explain for the rapidly growing hair), crochet and knit dolls of the man made by Flossie and Kari, stained glass, and my father’s favorite, David Tennant alphabet soup. A very long winded discussion of Waters of Mars ensues, which was enjoyed by all three girls although it was far too scary for children, our favorite part being when David speaks alien. Kelsey nearly has a monologue of her thoughts of Dreamland (at last, my revenge, I watch something they haven’t!) and Flossie tells us about La Cage Aux Folles, and Kari shares with us her lovely wallpaper! Our picture comment of the day is a rather old shoot from the early 90’s, in which we discover most of us were between 1-5 years old when it was taken (EWW!). We wrap it all up with part two of Only Human – which was no better than the first, yet entertaining no less.
A short episode this time! For this recording, Kelsey and Kari are there (kind of like old times) since Flossie can’t be with them because of a recording mix-up. But as her spirit is there, the two girls talk about David and Pudsey, reading bedtime stories (in which Kari has been waiting for this moment) and how David narrowly missed Zachary Quinto at the NTAs (in which Kelsey would have combusted and died from) but he’s still with the lovely Catherine Tate. They watched the St. Trinian’s II trailer (giggling like bmmad) and will be watching the rest of the video, plus Waters of Mars and Dreamland discussions will be on next time because Flossie threatened if she heard “waters” and “mars” in the same sentence. Of course picture comment of the day is always an inspirational moment and the big hub that started it all, Tennantively, has a brand spanking new layout!

In this week’s episode of Tennantcast, Kelsey, Kari and Flossie discuss the news of David’s week including some news about Rex Is Not Your Lawyer and his 3-day stint on Absolute Radio’s The OC with Christian O’Connell where much jealousy is expressed over Steven (who you’ll have heard on Episode 12) getting to phone in and talk with David directly. David’s bed gets talked about, as does the first teaser for the movie version of David’s Hamlet. Even John Barrowman isn’t safe as there’s much squeeing at his shiny take on Beyonce’s “Single Ladies”. And yes, it’s official! David has been voted the sexiest British man, as if there was any doubt!
This week’s Picture Comment comes from the much-watched webcam set up at The OC’s studio and the character series is back with a look at the first part of Only Human, a pilot David made several years ago that never got picked up for series. And of course the girls wonder what might have happened to David’s career if he’d become famous from this rather than becoming known later on in Casanova and Doctor Who.

Only Human, Part One
At last the girls are reunited again to join fangirl forces and have a very news filled episode. Go figure, the two weeks that everyone’s either busy, or sick, or in New York, some of the most critical David news is released. Flossie tells us of her journeys in New York and shares three exciting pictures – one of which was a child’s adorable Tenth Doctor costume the girls were coveting. Feeling a bit like a chicken with its head cut off, Kelsey accidentally typed “Rex is not your layer” in our show notes, which turned into the title of the show. After discussing this new project of David’s, and being enlightened with facts from dt-treats blogspot, we fantasize over the possibility of newcomers to the show which may one day lead to competition with other DT podcasts – but we all know “Doctor Sexy” has nothing on us. Kelsey enjoyed watching every. Single. Interview. Out there. Of David discussing his departure as doctor who, and shared a few highlights – including the fact that deep down inside, David wishes he could have a “genetically modified ball” of all three Tennantcast hosts as his companions (hey, a girl can dream!) Discussion continues with the possibility of David in rehab cued by a sarcastic joke in an interview, and Doctor Who food! Finally, we wrap the show up with an incredibly ecstatic, jubilant, overjoyed picture of David for the Picture Comment of the Day, and a forgotten bit of news of David denouncing climate change – of which some of us have heard a little too much about. Don’t twitter that!

In this week’s Tennantcast we have a special guest host to fill in while Flossie is on holiday and Kari is ill. Going off topic is the theme of the day where discussions of The Office, mullets and plastic bags (among other things) are the norm, though as always there’s news about David. There’s talk of the London Film Festival premiere of Glorious 39, including the mention of David’s, ahem, fashion sense at the premiere. David is also on The Sarah Jane Adventures so naturally that gets a shout out, as does his upcoming guest appearance on The Graham Norton Show in early November along with much more! Join Kelsey and Sara for some Tennant and not-so-Tennant fun!

Possibly the longest new segment ever in Tennantcast history (extending the entire episode), the girls begin with talk of Hamlet airing on Christmas. After the biggest blonde moments in history from one host forgetting what year she was living in, the girls get fume over a nasty comment said by Jude Law (bashing involved, Law fans are advised to cover their ears…) To make up for lack of Character Series, we watch the Sarah Jane Adventures trailer – but there’s not enough David!!!! Kelsey’s fear of Secret Smile has mysteriously overnight been conquered, and she also got her “grubby paws” on Under the Radar this week – which leads to an incredibly strange discussion of whether or not David would still have his magic if he was “Uber” fat (we’re talking medical show fat, all you decent weight people!) Much to the chagrin of Flossie, we invent some of those awful celebrity couple mash up names for David and Georgia – or Dorgia Tennoffit. The Burke & Hare controversy wraps up the news, and after our Picture Comment of the Day which features a half naked shaving David, Flossie ends us with an awesome review of Speaking in Tongues!
Certain hosts WERE harmed in the making of this podcast, but you won’t get to hear about that until the blooper reel!
