Tennantcast #22 – Cool People Wear Elk

Saturday, October 17th, 2009

Tennantcast_LogoTennantcast #22 begins in confusion amongst the girls as to what’s been talked about (covering one’s ears does not help), and watching the “privileged” adverts because Flossie spotted Nigel Havers in the upcoming SJA. Kari recounts the AWESOME story of being emailed by Under the Radar magazine’s Senior Editor and Publisher. In late news, the girls gush over the cuteness of David and Georgia together as the Speaking in Tongues premiere, a very rare thing to find fangirls doing. The news discussion then winds down with a heated discussion of why David could possibly be in LA (very funny, because now a week later we know), and our discontentment with David possibly being more famous in America. In the picture comment of the day, we decide that cool people wear Elk shirts and get distracted by Chris’s Skype instant messages about moosey wooseys and mooseses, where certain hosts get on a tangent about roadkill… but alas, bringing back up the character series, the girls enjoy watching David’s hilarious part in “Dead Ringers” which leads us to retire and watch Tom Baker impersonations.

Promo’s still around, hi to all who’ve visited because of it!

Tennantcast #21 – Please Don’t Touch Paul McCartney

Saturday, October 10th, 2009

Tennantcast_LogoOnce again the character series is destined for another episode but in its stead there are promises of a Tennantcast promo with hopes of drawing more David Tennant fans to the fold. Character series suggestions are still needed, feel free to leave them in the comments.

In the news this week, David has been nominated for ‘Best Actor’ by the TV Times, leading our three hosts to discuss the competition. Managing to tie in The Beatles, Kari and Kelsey show they aren’t just David Tennant fangirls but also big Beatles fans, something regular listeners will no doubt already know. Also in the news, David attended the West End premiere of Speaking in Tongues featuring John Simm and Flossie earned some jealousy from American fans by having tickets. They investigate Sarah Jane Adventures pictures and the question is asked, what IS Under the Radar magazine (featuring tall and Scottish David Tennant this month). The picture comment of the day delights and confuses our hosts as they ponder a snapshot from David reading for Virgin Radio while apparently dressed in full costume for the role!

A macro, David Tennant dreams, the importance of always having a printer and more on this week’s Tennantcast!

Tennantcast #18 – Scottish Leopard Men

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

Tennantcast_LogoThis week on Tennantcast, parents are frightened by David Tennant and Doctor Who knowledge while discussion follows swiftly about David as a leopard! The far more tame news segment features Kelsey, Kari and Flossie discussing Masterpiece Contemporary, the possibility of David with an American accent and his involvement with a radio adaptation of Steinbeck’s ‘Of Mice and Men.’ Never missing a chance to improve on their previous efforts, the cleaner and more stylish Tennantcast website is praised.

This week’s picture comment features David with headphones, spawning plans in Kelsey’s brain for a new Tennantcast logo. Time stalls these plans (photoshopping at midnight is never a wise idea) and not a moment too soon as your three hosts soon take up discussion about the 2005 remake of “The Quatermass Experiment” for this week’s Character series. It went out live, don’t ya know?

Tennantcast #16 – David Dances

Saturday, September 5th, 2009

Episode sweet 16 gets its “groove on” with yCopyofCopyoftennantcast2copyour usual hosts, Kelsey, Kari and Flossie. In the news segment, we toy with the idea of a “Doctor Who WORST Moments/Companions/Monster” special, and finally the girls pinpoint a photoshoot they don’t like (and that’s saying a lot for fangirl standards). And the Picture Comment of the Day is where we really get the party started, contemplating how does David dance – Macarena or Pop, Lock, and Drop it? We may never know, presumably nay on the latter… For the Character Series, they watch what they decide is a short film that changes meaning every time one watches, Sweet Night Good Heart. The girls deem it better than Nine and Half Minutes, and mark similarities between it and Secret Smile.

All of September we will be recording at convenient time for guest hosts for the Talk to the People Who’ve Talked to Tennant special for a big combination episode that will be loads of fun! Keep applying!

Tennantcast #13 – Like the fruit?

Saturday, August 15th, 2009

Kelsey’s back from Scotland! Joined by Kari and Flossie the trio touch base in a shorter podcast this week. Excuses abound for why the girls haven’t kept up to date with the latest news on David Tennant while she was gone but it’s all forgiven when conversation turns to the picture of the day. Acronyms are studied for hidden meanings (RTD DT SM MS…) and both sides of the Atlantic discuss Kool-Aid vs Ribena. Next week: Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) is discussed.

Tennantcast #6 – All Tennant fans are friends

Saturday, June 20th, 2009

News was slim again for Episode #6, as always, with your hosts Kelsey, Kari and Flossie. This gave Kari the brilliant idea to break from our normal structure and stop and say thank you to everyone. As the episode title implies, we believe that all Tennant fans should be friends – so we start out saying thanks to three fellow fansites we’ve had contact with through the years, some online communities, and then of course, to our fellow podcast sites. All have been incredibly helpful and supportive and we can’t thank you all enough. It’s been roughly two months since we’ve started, a little bumpy at first, but with everyone’s help we’ve reach over 2,000 hits.

And on a very silly side note, we recorded at a different time and date than we normally do, so Kelsey’s clocks kept going off – this episode nearly gained a title relating to this incident.

Show notes:

We should all group together in a hug!
If it weren’t for David, we’d be fangirls of Alan Rickman.
3:33 – the chimes make their first appearance. BEWARE.
http://www.david-tennant.com gets an applause for most updated site.
http://www.davidtennantfan.com has great mini sites and an actual fan forum(!)
http://www.tennant-online.net is saluted for operating single handedly.
Tenant_love@livejournal community is best place to get old and new info-
-and I say this as my poor cat, who was sleeping diligently on my lap while recording, is attacked by a falling microphone. I saw no way to edit this out without confusing people, so I apologize. I swear, no animals were harmed in the making of this podcast episode.-
Other great livejournal communities are dt_pic_daily & tenant_report, the latter which updates with our podcast episodes!
12:08 – the chimes attack again.
Tada! – go check our links :)

RFS, Whocast, Podshock, Tin Dog podcast, Minute Doctor Who podcast, Wailing fangirl – all recommended for you to check out.

Kari has the storm trooper shirt!
Martha/Freema, GRR.
21:26 – stupid clock.
In which we introduce the character series – too much Doctor Who.
23:17 – I LIVE WITH THIS.
Hurry up and do something, David! Or… do something “David” related?
BIG NOTE: Kari and Kelsey met on a forum where people were called “fhani” pronounced “fanny”. We realized the duel meaning, we forgot to warn you.

***important note: while we record, we have sites up on our computers that we comment on – well, when we mention http://www.gallifreyone.com we meant to say “Outpost Gallifrey”, but looking at the link while it was written on the structure, we just said the site name. We mention the site twice, and didn’t realize while recording we didn’t get the right title. Ok, the “we” is Kelsey – sorry!
