As you can see, we have a special episode today…. David Tennant is 39 today, and Tennantcast is one years old! This is a cause for celebration and a special podcast. In this episode, we stay relatively on topic with such discussions as 39 reasons why we love David, some facts about his birthday and then finally, our year with Tennantcast.

Enjoy and thank you for being part of a fantastic year with us! Happy Birthday David!

Tennantcast #25 – Rex Is Not Your Layer

Friday, November 13th, 2009

Tennantcast_LogoAt last the girls are reunited again to join fangirl forces and have a very news filled episode. Go figure, the two weeks that everyone’s either busy, or sick, or in New York, some of the most critical David news is released. Flossie tells us of her journeys in New York and shares three exciting pictures – one of which was a child’s adorable Tenth Doctor costume the girls were coveting. Feeling a bit like a chicken with its head cut off, Kelsey accidentally typed “Rex is not your layer” in our show notes, which turned into the title of the show. After discussing this new project of David’s, and being enlightened with facts from dt-treats blogspot, we fantasize over the possibility of newcomers to the show which may one day lead to competition with other DT podcasts – but we all know “Doctor Sexy” has nothing on us. Kelsey enjoyed watching every. Single. Interview. Out there. Of David discussing his departure as doctor who, and shared a few highlights – including the fact that deep down inside, David wishes he could have a “genetically modified ball” of all three Tennantcast hosts as his companions (hey, a girl can dream!) Discussion continues with the possibility of David in rehab cued by a sarcastic joke in an interview, and Doctor Who food! Finally, we wrap the show up with an incredibly ecstatic, jubilant, overjoyed picture of David for the Picture Comment of the Day, and a forgotten bit of news of David denouncing climate change – of which some of us have heard a little too much about. Don’t twitter that!

Tennantcast #12 – Geography Lessons and SDCC

Saturday, August 8th, 2009

With Kelsey still away in Scotland, Kari and Flossie are joined this week by Steven from Radio Free Skaro. The three discuss David and his time at the recent San Diego Comic Con (from the debunked rumors to his attire to the kiss felt around fandom), pick on Jimmy Carr and chew over the notion of stalking Mr. Tennant. Join the fun as deficiencies in geography come to light on both sides of the Atlantic, dread over the upcoming sequel to St. Trinian’s rises to a boil and our intrepid trio talk about David’s assets in the picture comment of the day.

Tennantcast #11 – More is Less

Saturday, August 1st, 2009

With Kelsey away (in Scotland) Kari, Flossie and George will play. Their discussion includes Jonathan Ross, San Diego Comic Con and planes. Not necessarily in that order.

They also comment on The Picture of the Day (http://twitpic.com/bl84k) where all agree that the costume must be heavy. The girls and boy also get side-tracked with a discussion on Tennant’s successor Matt Smith and his costume for the new series of Doctor Who.

Next week will feature a new voice! Who could it be? All we know is that it isn’t David Tennant…

Gotta Check 'Em All!

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

Episode #4 is quite special indeed with a whopping total of four voices, which belong to four special people: Your hosts Kelsey and Kari, and our lovely guests Sarah and Alex Day. We began as we normally do with our news and updates, which we all agree: David is lying when he says he’s quitting Doctor Who. Matt Smith is actually David Tennant after drinking Polyjuice Potion, and Kelsey wants to pick David’s brains about his role of Hamlet. We’re coming at him with Scalpels too. Also, a prediction is made that the cure is in David’s pocket in the animated series. We apologize for the transition, or lack thereof, between the interview, but we got Alex Day up at 9:00 AM. He starts in and charms us all with long story answers. We apologize again, but there’s a slight echo in his voice on the episode, very slight however. Blame him.

Show notes:

Apparently, there’s a trock band in Florida.
Alex talks about his first Doctor Who experience.
We all agree the Doctor will not die at his 13th regeneration.
Donna’s brains will melt into a million pieces.
Alex is a Dr. Pepper drinker. You heard it here.
And…A rice krispies eater.
Look for Alex in the June edition of Doctor Who Magazine in “Who on earth” section!
Why didn’t they choose the name “Guitardis”?
The Tale of how Alex bought a guitar on eBay.
Alex played Pokemon for 200 hours. And we thought we were crazy.
Lo and Behold… David Tennant is Alex’s favorite doctor. He wasn’t pressured at all.
Kelsey asks a question that was misunderstood.
Alex is seeing Up… Or, has seen. How was it? We never found out.
We rabbit trail with Pixar movies… No one liked Cars.
Which inspires us to all watch the new Toy Story 3 trailer together (it’s super cute!)
A mysterious ghost typed on Chameleon Circuit’s twitter page happy birthday to someone…Maybe.
Chameleon Circuit album has already been released, but we recorded before June 1st, Trock compilation on August 8th!
Here’s Digital Spy’s interview!
“Skyers” released in September (not to be confused with skiers…)
Alex Day’s “Parrot Stories” released in December.
DFTBA’s street team (Kelsey and Sarah joined, so should you!)

There are two surprises at the end, in which we break all professionalism we may or may not have possessed. Let your inner child enjoy :)

Disclaimer:
We would like to note to you all right now, although he do not label ourselves a “Doctor Who” podcast primarily, we still feel that Trock and all it’s associations are relevant to this podcast. Since David Tennant has such close and familiar ties, and the cast is big fans, Doctor Who discussion is completely relevant. Also, it’s sort of hard to only David but nothing he’s affiliated with.
